Everything You Didn't Want to Know and Weren't Afraid to Ask

 

September 1987 to May 1991 -- Attended Rutgers College, majoring in History and Political Science, minoring in Philosophy.

September 1991 to May 1993 -- Attended Rutgers Graduate School of Education, majoring in Social Studies Education.  Received teaching certificate.

September 1993 to Present -- Social Studies teacher at Hillsborough High School, advisor/coach to Mock Trial (1993-2001, 2005-Present), Student Council (1994-1996), Model Congress (1994-Present), Model UN (1995-Present), Junior State of America/Forum (1996-2003), Amnesty International (2001-Present). Taught World Cultures eight years, US History II CP five years, Political and Legal Education two years, Diversity in American Culture one year, AP US History II seven years, AP US Government & Politics five years, US History I E one year, and US History I CP one year.

August 13, 2000 -- The third best day of my life, my wedding.  I duped Eileen into saying both "I will" and "I do."  Sucker.

August 2001 -- Purchase first home in bucolic Somerville, New Jersey.

Fall 2002 -- Because Gary Keck continues to refuse to allow his name to be submitted and because the nominating committee was really drunk, I was named the 2003 Hillsborough High School Teacher of the Year.  (They have awards for that?  Well, they have Latin Grammies...)

January 7, 2003 -- The best day -- the birth of my darling daughter, Lily Agnes Fenster.

November 2005 -- Kyle Pucciarello's social consciousness kicks me in the butt and makes me put together Shelter From The Storm for the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We raised $12,000.

August 1, 2006 -- Captain Superlative has another "best day ever" as Maggie Rose Fenster joins the Fenster clan.

Fall 2006 -- Named Institute of Domestic and International Affairs teacher of the year.

May 5, 2005 -- Shelter From The Storm II nets $10,000 for the suffering people of Darfur.

Spring 2007 -- Amherst College deems me one of three teachers of the year via the Phebe and Zephaniah Swift Moore award, nominated by Tom Chen.
